AVID Technology Ltd designs and manufactures electrified powertrain and advanced thermal management systems for heavy-duty and high-performance electric (EV) and hybrid vehicle (HEV) powertrains and to improve conventional engine (ICE) efficiency through efficient thermal management, lubrication and electrified ancillary systems. AVID has recently won a number of big contracts, one of them being an Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) project to reduce emissions from the global shipping industry. The aim is to develop a waste heat recovery system designed to deliver reduced emissions and fuel efficiency savings of at least eight per cent across all types of ship. Working as part of the engineering team you will be working full time on this project.
Essential skills and experience
- 3 to 5 years work experience
- Calculations and specifications of pumps and heat exchangers
- Thermo fluid calculations
Desirable skills and experience
- Design of pipework and components
- Knowledge of marine standards

• Excellent spoken and written English
• Strong problem solving skills
Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent
